Dear racist…

Other people from other nations are allowed to be proud of their heritage without it being seen as a challenge to your own. Don’t piss on my roots and heritage whilst expecting me to respect and honour yours. Understand that no one is pure anything. Every single one of us shares a common ancestor.

Go back far enough you will see a time when your people did not inhabit the land which you now occupy, the land which your nomadic ancestors likely died to attain, spilt and shed blood to keep and invented a flag to represent.

You own nothing. Your territorial pissings in fact call into question whether humans are all that evolved at all.  

I do not decry your pride in all your people have achieved. Your desire to belong and find a place. I do believe your ugly smirking sense of superiority is distasteful though, as is your pride in the dominance your race exerts and has exerted over others. You are quite literally giving your blessing to the raping, pillaging and subjugation of other nations under the guise of ‘we helped advance them.’

You claim an authority you have no right to and never did. 

Does a twenty year old man have the right to take a ten year old as bride because he is more mature, stronger and can show her a better way of life; deliver her from ignorance?

No.

And neither is it right that nations exploit each other and then label it benevolence. 

By all means cherish and nurture your sense of belonging. But keep your feet on the ground though and empathy in your hearts. Don’t fall victim to the type of ignorance and haughty arrogance that harms others and makes you ugly. 

And above all, don’t presume you are better because you are different. That’s how wars begin.
